CHAPARRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: 2010 Online Auction
On March 12th, 2010, Chaparral Elementary School in Calabasas will be holding its Annual online auction. The auction will be online until March 20th. They are looking for donations. As a result of the recent state budget cuts and the current economy, local community support for public schools is crucial. Chaparral Elementary School is a public LVUSD school, for students in grades K-5. All proceeds from the auction directly support essential programs, including: Computer Lab, Art, Library, Music and various other programs. They are looking for any items to include but not limited to: gift certificates, services, sports/theater tickets, vacations.  The auction item listing will provide the company logo or donor name, an item photo and a direct link to your website on the auction. Gifted Children’s Association of the SFV  –  SUMMER Classes 
Summer classes offered for 4-year-olds thru 9th graders.  Half day or full day.  Location: Northridge area.  Last summer’s classes covered art (cartooning, photography, crafts, textiles, fashion, film-making, animation, portraits, painting, paper dolls), drama (Harry Potter, mythology, performance plays), dance (aerobics, jazz, ballet, hiphop, modern), science (earth science, animals, where does food come from?, dinosaurs, zoology, astronomy, rocketry), math, games (D&D, crime/mystery solving, charades, board games), language activities (poetry, story writing, word play), music (guitar) and other special topics like pirates, popsicle stick sculpture, puppetry, and much, much more.  Teachers for these classes are chosen by both their abilities and passions for their subject areas.
