Boy Scout Troop 582 seeking single items for a silent auction in March
The event will be attended not just by teenage boys but also by their
families and members of the community. They expect at least one hundred
people and will also be inviting members of the press and the city council.

Shomrei Torah Commemorative Holocaust Memorial Garden
On Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 12:30 PM a Dedication Ceremony will be held
during which STS members will place stones in our Commemorative Holocaust
Memorial Garden.  Each stone will have the name of a loved one lost in the
Holocaust.  This is your opportunity to remember a loved one lost and
enhance our STS Holocaust Memorial. Each stone will have the name of one
person lost in the Shoah. Each name will be hand painted in calligraphy on
the stone. Names can be either Hebrew or English. The cost will be $18.00
per stone (one name per stone)to place the stone in the memorial at the
April 19, 2009 ceremony, orders must be received no later than March 15,
2009.  This deadline is in place in an effort to give our artist enough time
to prepare the stones.

Free Pre-K round up
Grand View Blvd. Elementary school, located in Mar Vista, has free 1/2 day
preschool through its SRLDP program. The classes are for kids who turn 4 by
December 1st, 2009, and they run Mondays – Thursdays for 2 ½ hours a day. A
10-week parent education class is required, as is 1 volunteer day per month.
