her sisters. She is very caring and loving toward's her 4-year old son who
has a very hard time leaving her. When she picks him up, he is happy and
tells her about all the fun he had painting, reading, cooking etc. The day
care is licensed and operates from 7:00am - 6:00pm. She provides all-day,
hourly or after-school care. Katrin cares for and picks up children from Van
Gogh and El Oro Way Elementary schools. She provides healthy snacks and

Free Kids Science Presentations Being Offered
Here's a wonderful opportunity for children - 3rd grade to 6th grade - to
participate in a National kids science challenge. Amazing prizes are being
given including an all expense trip to New York to work with Forensic
Scientists and other very cool science prizes. It's called "Kids Science
Challenge": http://kidsciencechallenge.com/  They are working under a grant
and are offering completely free guided science presentations and are
looking, particularly for under-served, but all kids in this age
bracket....they would come to the kids and are hoping to find some places
during this upcoming winter break to work with the kids and hopefully
inspire them to enter the contest, or at minimum get them excited about
science! Science has been cut from so many school curriculums and is a much
needed program. If anyone is aware of any winter camps that might be
interested in having the science team come out to their school, park center,
recreation center, etc. please contact Thea Piegdon know who will coordinate
the arrangements. Brownie, Girl Scout or Cub Scout troops can also enter as
a group and arrangements can be made for the science team to go to one of
the troop meetings which might even fulfill a badge requirement. It's a
one-year grant so presentations will be offered through most of 2010 as well
but the national competition deadline is end of February and they'd like to
