Metro Link Tragedy
Community Candlelight Vigil for Victims of the Chatsworth Train Disaster
Friday, Sept. 19 at Chatsworth Depot Train Station at 6:45 pm 
This event is being organized by two young community members who were so moved by the tremendous loss of life that they took it upon themselves to organize a commemoration for all of the victims of the Sept. 12 tragedy. 
Haley, 15 years old, and Kristen, 17 years old, two best friends who live in Chatsworth, have hand-made memorial candles, each with the name of one of the people who passed away in the train disaster, and have provided over 200 tea lights for participants to light in their memory. Haley and Kristen asked for our help in inviting everyone in the community to join them for this moment of healing and rememberance. It is also a time for us to gather and pray for a full and speedy recovery for all those who were injured. No RSVP is necessary. Although Haley and Kristen have provided candles, participants are encouraged to bring their own candles as well because many people are expected to attend.

We applaud this remarkable and moving effort by such young members of our community.
