Dont forget to tune into tonight, on NBC at 9pm to the Office Promise
its the episode that Matthew/Joey make their debut! Remember, dont be
surprised when you see the star baby!
We had a terrific time at Disneyland. Top 10 things I realized about our
trip:
1) Note to self: Check stroller wheels BEFORE leaving the house. I got
all the way there, with the stroller and realized that all 3 tires were
flat. Had to rents strollers.
2) There are gift shops every few feet for a reason. I think that we
literally went into every store on the grounds. Walt Disney is not stupid
I
cant even count how many times I heard Can we have
Needless to say,
never made it to Tune Town
3) A Wed. in the middle of Oct. is a perfect time to go. We either walked
on to the ride or had to wait at the most 5-10 minute in a line. It was
terrific!
4) Going to Disneyland and the word Diet should never be used in the same
sentence.
5) A beignet from New Orleans square is a must have
one of the best
things I have ever tasted & no clue how many points on weight watchers they
are.
6) Using Priceline to get our hotel was key! We got a room at the Hyatt
for $80 and then was upgraded to a suite with 2 rooms, that included bunk
beds, when we arrived!
7) I dont like roller coasters.
8) Seeing all the familys there together made me miss the babies and my
hubby!
9) The employees at Disneyland all seem to LOVE their job.
10) I am tired and came home to 381 emails!

Sweetest Day 2008
Saturday, October 18th
Now here is a day dedicated just for your sweetie. It exists as an
opportunity for you to recognize that sweet and special someone. It doesnt
matter who that person is, or what their relation to you. They just have to
be "sweet" in order to get a little recognition.
Herbert Birch Kingston, a Cleveland, Ohio philanthropist and candy company
employee started Sweetest Day. He wanted to bring happiness to orphans,
shut-ins and under-privileged. His intent was to show these people that they
were not forgotten. In 1922, he started this holiday by giving candy and
small gifts. He often used movie stars to distribute the gifts.
The popularity of this holiday quickly spread. Today, is celebrated with
loved ones and friends. However, we encourage you to follow the intent of
the original holiday, and find ways to give candy and small gifts to those
in need.

Verymeri - Children's t-shirt fundraising company all designed by kids
Two years ago, Bryan Gelfound, at age 10, was the proud winner of verymeri's
first t-shirt design contest, with the design I'm a boy and I love pink! To
Bryan's surprise, his design created quite a buzz. Celebrity TV host Billy
Bush, was quick to snatch one up. along with other verymeri fans. verymeri
kept I'm a boy in circulation for a season and then retired the design to
make room for new winners. Now two years later, Bryan is still a verymeri
fan. In fact, he's entered several other designs and on occasions helps
verymeri at different events. Over these past couple of years Bryan, now
12, and his family have been touched deeply by experiences with cancer.
His grandmother passed away from uterin cancer at 64. His uncle passed away
from pancreatic cancer at 44. And his aunt, has been battling reoccurring
breast cancer, age 47. Bryan's awareness of cancer and it's affects on his
loved ones has gone from no knowledge to way too much knowledge quickly.
For Bryan, time has come to take a stand. He contacted verymeri with the
idea of relaunching his I'm a boy...tee and using it as a fundraiser for
Breast Cancer Awareness month, this October. His intention is to sell as
many tees as possible, while donating 20% back to the Fight Against Breast
Cancer through the Susan G. Komen Foundation. verymeri donates 20% back to
all participating organizations or the non-profit of their choice. The
fight against cancer is especially meaningful not only for Bryan, but for
Meri as well, verymeri's founder and CEO, who lost her aunt to cancer last
year, age 55, while her other aunt fought and won her battle with breast
cancer. Each I'm a boy tee will come with Bryan's supercool design on the
front and the pink ribbon symbol on the sleeve. Available in sizes 2
through adult, take a stand buy purchasing one today at www.verymeri.com

All About Animals
Beverly Hills Chihuahua, a new Disney movie opened October 3rd. We all know
what happens when a new dog movie comes outlots of people decide they
must have a dog just like the one in the movie. But what people might not
realize is that shelters and groups across the country have plenty of
Chihuahuas, for ADOPTION. In fact, Chihuahuas are the 5th most-posted breed
of dog for adoption on Petfinder (after Labs, Shepherds, Pit bulls and mixes
of those breeds). Check out our star-studded PSA video (with actors from the
movie) that encourages adoption instead of buying. Watch on the Best Friends

Rescue a Chihuahua on Petfinder instead of buying one from a pet store,
newspaper ad or the Internet. In fact, the star Chihuahua of the movie was
rescued from a Moreno Valley shelter, outside of L.A. Just days before his
time was up.

Thoughts on young childrens birthday parties from a jens list mom:
If you get an invitation to a childs birthday party, please take a moment
to RSVP as soon as you can, whether you plan to attend or not. It creates
unnecessary worry on the parent throwing their child a party to imagine
nobody attending, or not to know how much food or how many party favors to
buy. One new pre-school mom asked me if we go to all the parties were
invited to. I told her we cant make it to all, but we try to attend as
many as we can. Even if youre not close with the child or their family,
its still nice to attend sometimes they dont have a lot of close
friends, and your being there makes a difference. Imagine its your own
childs party and how much it means to them and to you to have friends and
classmates share their special day. It sometimes gets tiresome, but I try
to think of these parties as a nice time to get to know other parents. If
your childs class is large, with several birthdays close together, you
might consider (or suggest) combining a party with another child. Other
parents will surely appreciate it! If gifts ($$) become an issue, try
Marshalls or Ross or the bargain book aisle at a book store. Kids dont
care how much the gift costs the most fun is unwrapping it! If nap time
is an issue, try to be flexible. Its impossible for a parent to plan
around every childs nap, and your child will likely survive a slight change
in schedule. Its inevitable that youll have to miss a few parties, but
next time you receive an invitation, before you toss it aside without a
second thought, consider what it means to the child and parent who invited
you.
The Day One Photo Session
You know those horrible, horrible portraits they take of your baby in the
hospital? The ones on the weird bluish-pinkish background, with the flash
that makes their skin look blotchy? Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a
portrait that captures the magic of your baby's first days of life? With a
Day One Session, they will come to your hospital room within the first
couple of days after your baby has been born and take black and white images
using natural light. They won't bring in obnoxious equipment, and any of
your family members are welcome to participate in the session. About a week
later, they will post the images on the website, so you'll have images
you'll be proud to show off to everyone you know. The Day One Session is
$525, which includes a one-hour location session and a custom-designed
Storybook Album, with all of the images from the session, the baby's name,
birthdate, weight, height and other stats, along with thoughts and feelings
collected by everyone who was present during those first few days. It's a
beautiful way to capture those fleeting first days forever. To book your Day
One Session, call 661-297-6951 or email <mailto:info at autumnhullphoto.com>

THE MUST HAVE ITEM FOR PREGNANT WOMEN

baby, let others on the road know that you are expecting.

one of the first places to launch the service. So, they have built us our
own personal version of the site just for trusted Jen's List members. It
will launch today and, again, you can access it at
www.jenlevinson.com/handmedowns. It will be pretty empty at the beginning
but we will start to fill it up together. So, I encourage you to try it out.
My partners at www.handmedowns.com are very open to suggestions, feedback
etc. & you can email them at help at handmedowns.com or
technicalquestions at handmedowns.com. Please remember, it's still in beta so
please be patient with any issues or problems. I hope you like it!!
