Decisions, decisions
Living a healthy, happy life is all about the choices you make. But sometimes the healthiest option isn't that obvious. If you want to lose 10 pounds, is it better to eat low carb or low fat? If you want to have a drink, and you don't want wine, is it better to have a beer or a Cosmo? If you want to tone up your waistline, is it better to do cardio or crunches? If you want to beat a cold, is it better to take vitamin C or echinacea? Pop a pill or take a relaxing bath to cure insomnia? Try meditation or get a massage to de-stress? Do any of these questions resonate with you? Do you have questions of your own? Do you have real mommy friends who might have questions? The Health editors at www.losethatbabyfat.com
would like the questions to come from real women with real issues. So if you're wondering about ANYTHING, they are looking for you...
Email lchabut at gmail.com and put "This or That?" in the subject line (be sure to include your name, age, and location). You could have a chance to be featured in an upcoming Health story!

Fantastic, experienced nanny available in SFV-We are moving out of town and with much sadness will be leaving our nanny. She is now looking for a new full-time job in the Valley (she lives in Van Nuys) and is available to start as soon as mid-June. Astrid has been a nanny for nearly 20 years and is a mother of three (her youngest is in high school). She's from Guatamala where she was a school teacher so she has great experience and great credentials. She speaks perfect English and drives her own car. She's incredibly reliable - ALWAYS gets to work on time and rarely calls in sick (in fact, we've had to send her home before when she came to work sick because she didn't want to leave us in a bind). She's also almost always available to babysit on the weekends if we need her. Both of our children adore her. One she cared for from when he was a baby and the other since he was three. She's definitely good with a variety of ages and knows how to engage them differently. Twice we've left her with the kids when we've gone away for the weekend and never worried about them - they actually look forward to spending these "special weekends" with her and we trust her implicitly. Although she's primarily a nanny, she is willing to do light housekeeping, especially when she's caring for little kids who take naps. Even on busy days when our 5-yr-old is home all day with our toddler, in addition to keeping the kids fully engaged (we don't usually watch TV during the week) she still finds time to clean up the kitchen, unload the dishwasher, do a load or two of laundry, help me start dinner AND pick up all the toys before we get home. Although it's not why we hired her and we don't insist that she do these things, it is REALLY helpful! When we hired her, all of her references were glowing and I'm sure she'd be more than happy to provide that information to anyone who's interested. If you're interested, please email mcandsg at sbcglobal.net - include where you live, what you're looking for, and your telephone number. I'll then forward your information along to her so she can call you. Thanks, Sarah Galusha - 818.590.4932 (cell)

One of a kind nanny available. Speaks English and Spanish, drives a reliable car, CPR certified and is a US citizen. If you are as paranoid about leaving your child with someone outside of your family as I am, you can relax. Dina has worked with us for 19 months. Before she worked with our family she worked for a friend of mine for 5 years until their son started Kindergarten. It breaks our hearts to let her go, but we don't have a choice. I've made a job change that will be great for our family, but it's less money. Our decision is strictly financial. We decided to put our youngest in preschool. Dina is now a permanent member of our family. She loves our entire family as much as we love her. It's very important to us that she finds a family that treats her as well as we do. We pay her $15 per hour. She does light cleaning...picking up toys, washing dishes, making the beds and the kids laundry. Her primary responsibility has always been to keep a close eye on the kids. She's done an amazing job of it. Dina takes our son to the park everyday and sits on the floor playing puzzles and games with him. She always feeds him healthy food and has never called in sick. Most importantly she respects all of my paranoid parenting quirks. She will be available June 16th. For more information please contact JoAnne: edittv at aol.com

If you're looking for help a few days a week call Graciela. She has great references, speaks english, drives and has her own child. Call her at 323-734-1922.
