JUDICIAL ELECTIONS - June 3rd
Michael Jesic is an outstanding candidate for Superior Court Judge (Seat 154 - in Los Angeles County). According to some political analysts, this election may be a historically low voter turnout (given the general election in November), so every vote is even more important in this election. Mike will make a truly excellent judge. He has been a prosecutor in LA County for over 12 years. 6 1/2 of those years were spent in the Hardcore Gang Division, where he has successfully prosecuted some of Los Angeles' most violent criminals. He was rated "Well Qualified" by the LA County Bar and was endorsed by the Los Angeles Times, where they stated "Michael Jesic is another prosecutor who has mastered the courtroom and is ready to become a judge." His extensive list of endorsements also includes District Attorney Steve Cooley, Sheriff Lee Baca, Supervisor Mike Antonovich, Councilman Dennis Zine, 30 Superior Court Judges, including both the Presiding and Assistant Presiding Judges of the Los Angeles Superior Court Criminal Division, the Association of Deputy District Attorneys, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, The Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs, Crime Victims United and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor AFL-CIO, consisting of over 800,000 workers in Los Angeles County, and most recently, the Metropolitan News, as well as many others. Our families and many wonderful friends and neighbors live in Los Angeles County. He is committed to keeping our community safe. If you'd like to read more about his many qualities and qualifications, and about his ability to serve the best interests of the community, please visit his website (www.jesicforjudge.com) and read why he truly is the standout candidate in this race. At the website, please take note of the other outstanding judicial candidates - Serena Murillo, Hilleri Merritt, Thomas Rubinson, Pat Connolly, Lance Winters, Jared Moses, Kathleen Blanchard, and Michael O'Gara. There are links to their websites at www.jesicforjudge.com. This race is county-wide.

YOZEN FROGURT
A business on Thousand Oaks Blvd., hidden behind a row of trees, boasts a sign that appears to have a catastrophic typo. The mixup, however, is intentional, and is just one of Yozen Frogurt's many charms. The long line snaking out of the building can be daunting, but it goes surprisingly fast, thanks to quick service and an efficient staff. In fact, the customer's longest wait is only as long as the amount of time he/she takes to choose a flavor. Choosing was, by far, one of the most difficult-and time intensive- decisions I have ever made. Luckily, the staff is generous in handing out samples. Yozen Frogurt offers 14 flavors at any given time, each equally delicious. When I went, they s e r v e d the traditional chocolate, vanilla, and oreo, as well as the not-so-conventional peanut butter, pomegranate, and banana cream pie, to name a few. They even offer sugar free chocolate and "White Cloud," which is a tart, plain yogurt. My favorite flavor, by far, was Mango Tango, which had the same consistency as snow. But it doesn't end there. Yozen Frogurt also offers over 30 types of toppings, from sprinkles to nuts, from hot fudge to candy. And, not to mention, an amazing array of fresh fruit. While it sounds extremely similar to PinkBerry,Yozen Frogurt blows its competition out of the water. The flavors, the servings and the prices are better. Even the smallest size is substantial and filling. But if that isn't enough to satisfy one's empty stomach, one needn't fear emptying their wallet for a bigger portion. Each successive size is a mere increase of 25 cents, all the way up to the pint. In the end, my only qualm with Yozen Frogurt is its slogan, "The Healthy Place." While the yogurt is in fact healthy-they display the nutrition facts right next to the available flavors- it becomes just as bad as any ice cream sunday once the toppings are added. Not that it's a bad thing. If anything, Yozen Frogurt caters to both healthy eaters and those with a sweet tooth alike. yozen frogurt

PROPOSAL STORIES - GOOD AND BAD!
Artist, writer and entrepreneur Gretchen Martin is compiling marriage proposal stories from both men and women for her new book "Proposal Stories - Good and Bad" (working title). She is interested in hearing your personal proposal stories from the most romantic to the downright rotten. Please don't be scared to submit your botched proposals and the stories we can all look back on and laugh about in addition to your dreamy accounts! Please also include how long you were together prior to the proposal and what happened after (Did you go through with it? Are you married with children? Divorced? etc.) Got more than one story? Hubbie got a different version? Tell that too! This book will serve as a study as well as a guide for others on what-to-do and what-not-to-do. It will inspire, it will make you laugh, and it will make you feel normal - because these are REAL stories! Please DO submit your embarrassing tales, as you can submit them to be credited anonymously. This book will be self-published, but if the author is able to contract a publishing deal, there will be deferred pay of $100 if your story is used in addition to a copy of the book. You will also be acknowledged/credited in whatever way you wish...couple's name, full name, first name, anonymous, city and state only, etc. If your story is chosen, you will be requested to sign a release, approve any editing and you would get a guarantee in writing. Publish your story to share in the pages of history! Be an example (good or bad!) for other couples considering taking the leap! Please pass this information on to your married, once married, engaged, proposed or once-proposed-to friends! Don't forget to provide your complete contact information should your story be chosen. Email stories to: WillYouMailToMe at yahoo.com
