SuperKids Nutrition Inc. is looking to recruit writers & editors for the website
The goal is to provide free printable nutrition resources and nutrition curriculum developed by the nutrition experts, registered dietitians and nutrition scientists, aimed toward parents, teachers and healthcare professionals in a variety of settings. While writers and editors are not paid, they are permitted to provide a brief bio and a link to their website, books, and services. In addition, the site will be providing writers their own webpage who commit to several articles over the course of the year. A website can help provide you with a platform for consulting work, such as free lance writing, nutrition counseling or other services. This is a great opportunity to write on a topic to expand your knowledge base, share your passion on nutrition or go through your files and give an old article a fresh look. Article submissions go through several edits, which can help you further develop your writing skills and learn how to communicate important nutrition messages concisely and effectively. Furthermore, you win by having access to free material you can use when providing your services. They are working towards building additional lecture material that will be uniquely available to our writers and editors. Superkidsnutrition.com is currently being re-designed and will have a new and beautiful look late summer 2008. It will include two new sections, one that shows the connection between food choices and the world at large and the other will include interviews with nutrition scientists. Contact melissa at superkidsnutrition.com once you choose a topic after browsing the site (most of the content is in Nutrition Answers). She can also send you some ideas based on your noted interests along with the writing guidelines. You'll need to choose a submission date that is realistic and achievable. After you submit your draft it goes through editing and back to you for final approval. All work must be your own, no paraphrasing etc. It's best to have some one review it prior to submitting. Please consider referring dietitians and those in your community to our resources. www.superkidsnutrition.com

One4One
One4One is a six-week program that encourages women to promise to talk to their health care providers about ways to help protect themselves from cervical cancer. For every woman who pledges online at www.One4OnePledge.org, Merck & Co., Inc. will donate $5 (up to $1 million) to five organizations dedicated to decreasing the burden of cervical cancer in the U.S. (Black Women's Health Imperative, Gynecologic Cancer Foundation, Lance Armstrong Foundation, National Asian Women's Health Organization, and National Latina Health Network).
These organizations will use the funds to provide cervical cancer information services and other educational programs to women across the United States, including women at greater risk of developing the disease due to lack of information or health care. And when you make your pledge, you choose where the money goes. You can give $5 to one organization or $1 to all five organizations. It's that simple, that easy. You make a pledge to help yourself, and with a click of your mouse, you help someone else. Make a vow to help yourself and help womankind in the process.

Quilt
While many parents choose to give most of their baby's clothes away, there are several pieces they simply cannot bear to part with or which hold special memories. Now, families can keep those garments, and they can free them from permanent storage in the attic or a musty box by making a keepsake baby quilt. The Ticche & Bea Baby Clothes Quilt Kit provides the perfect way to display a little part of childhood. The kit contains everything needed to make a quilt from a child's baby clothes-alternating squares in minky fabric, batting, a quilt back, safety pins, straight pins, a cutting template, and very specific directions. But WAIT! If you can't sew, or don't have the time, you can send the quilt kit back with squares from the baby clothes you've cut, and they will sew the whole thing up for you. In 3-4 weeks, you'll receive a beautifully sewn quilt ready to hang on the wall or give as a gift. http://www.ticcheandbea.com/baby-quilt-pattern.html
