Bring it all in a Chic Pocket
Here's a great way to carry a lot of jewelry: A Jewelry Pocket by Cry Babyz. With eight separate pouches for organization of your smaller pieces (rings, earrings, chains and charms) and a large central area (which nicely fits bracelets and bigger necklaces), this cloth pouch protects jewelry in a compact little container. So cute when closed up and tied with a bow, this is a great gift alone, or gift wrap for a special graduation, Mother's Day or Sweet Sixteen gift. And an excellent travel-piece for you on your next trip--its so light weight and small it won't take up the precious cargo space you need for your shoes. Use code "Chic Gifts" for 20% off. Other cute stuff on the site too!

Sites for Kids
This website, http://www.broenink-art.nl/maukie2.swf, is a good introduction on how to move the mouse for a toddler. The kitty cat follows the mouse. The kitty purrs if you leave the mouse on her chest. And she'll try to paw the mouse if you leave it at her feet.
For another introduction on how to use the mouse and see that you are affecting the screen, go to www.poissonrouge.com: You can paint, put together a jigsaw puzzle, and even conduct a round of Frere Jacques. There are also many great homepages for your children to personalize (a homepage is the page onto which your browser opens).

Hope In Sight Annual Gala
Years ago, local children and adults with severely impaired vision had no help to use their limited vision in order to live, work and play. The nonprofit Center for the Partially Sighted opened it's doors 30 years ago to help these people live full and independent lives. Each year the Center recognizes accomplished individuals with their Vision Award, presented at their Hope In Sight Gala. Past recipients include Lucille Ball, Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Kelly, Sammy Davis, Jr., and last year's honoree, Betty White. Very dear friends of mine, Louis and Michelle Posen have been chosen as recipients of the Vision Award this year, which will be presented at the Hope In Sight Gala on September 21, 2008. Vision-related issues are important to both them. They have been involved with the Center for many years, and have seen first-hand how vitally important their programs are to helping people cope with this seismic transition in their lives. They invite you to join them in supporting the crucial work the Center does by donating an item to the center for the live auction during the annual gala. Your auction donation will be acknowledged in the gala dinner program and auction posting, in their newsletter, and on their website. The Center's annual Hope In Sight Gala raises funds to insures that everyone can get the care they need when their vision fails. Recently they opened additional sites in Tarzana, Torrance and San Luis Obispo to meet the ever-increasing demand from children born with optical albinism, people diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa or diabetes-related vision loss, and older adults losing central vision to macular degeneration. Less than 8% of the Center's budget comes directly from their clients, and no one is turned away because they cannot afford to pay. In addition, many services such as in-home training in daily living tasks, psychological counseling, and referrals to helpful community resources are provided free or on a sliding scale. The Center relies on the generous donations from individuals and foundations help fund the majority of their programs. With your generous assistance, the Center will be able to continue to make a significant difference in the lives of the thousands of local individuals who so desperately need their help. Your tax-deductible gift will have a significant impact in changing lives right here in Southern California. To make a donation or more information, please email mishmph at earthlink.net

Natural baby care and how it is so important for all of our little ones
Me and minime offers a wealth of all-natural, unique baby products and accessories for parents and their young ones. The website is the inspiration and creation of Kia Imandel, LA-based mom to Darian and Aidan. Upon shopping for baby products for her first child, Imandel was discontent with the limited options drug and grocery stores carried on their shelves, not to mention learning of all the chemicals they contain. So, she went into a research frenzy and discovered a ton of wonderful, yet hard to find natural items from around the globe. Imandel decided to create a hub where other moms just like her could easily shop for these great finds. As a result, Meandminime.com was born! Calendula Ointment from Hylands, Bum Bum Balm from Munchskins and Sweet Nectar Baby Oil from Mama Rose's Naturals are just a sampling of some of the products available on www.MeandMinime.com. Throughout Europe, moms and their minimes have been sporting the charming Minime t-shirt collection for a few years now. Finally, the matching shirts have hit the States and are available online. These sets make the perfect holiday gift for any proud parent. Donning a variety of designs and slogans to match every personality (fishies, hearts, "99% Angel," and "Danger" to name a few), these high quality 100% cotton t-shirt combos include a mommy tee, a baby tee (sized from 6 months to 6 years) and a matching diaper tote. Tee shirt colors range from hot orange, teal blue, deep red, oatmeal, heather gray and white. Daddies shouldn't feel excluded, though. There are also matching shirts available for them. Gift sets retail from $75 to $95.

PARENT - Job Description
POSITION :
Mom, Mommy, Mama, Ma
Dad, Daddy, Dada, Pa, Pop
JOB DESCRIPTION :
Long term, team players needed for challenging permanent work in an often chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to
primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities! Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5. Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly. Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case this time the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf. Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers. Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects. Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next. Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a
half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices. Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product. Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.
POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION :
None. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE :
None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.
WAGES AND COMPENSATION :
Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because
of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent. When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.
BENEFITS :
While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuiti on reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth, unconditional love, and free hugs and kisses for life if you play your cards right.
