Have a wonderful weekend everyone! This newsletter is extra long. Since I am no longer posting on the Sat/Sun...there is so much good stuff to get in!
'Momnesia' not just in moms' heads
Thank goodness there is a name for my disorder! Neurologists say there may be a biological basis for what new moms already know to be true — childrearing contributes to memory loss. NBC's Savannah Guthrie reports. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032619/vp/23505815#23505815
The Best Popcorn Popper
Ok, here goes the Jen Levinson version of an infomercial! Popcorn is one of my favorite snack foods, but I have to admit, I think i o'ded on the microwave version and literally could not pop another bag into the micro anytime in the near future. Then along comes an article in the LA Times all about popcorn poppers. Of course, the most expensive one, the Cuisinart's Electric EasyPop Popcorn Maker, got the best review, but I decided that it was going to be money well spent...all the times that it was going to get used.

We got it and LOVE it. It's been a total hit in this house...just had to pass the info along!
It can be found online at:
http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14981268
Tip: If you go into the store, they will order online for you and you can use a 20% off coupon. AND if you don't have one, email me. I will mail you one. The NEVER expire(even though they say they do) and i think I have accumulated about 100 of them!
Happy Popping!
Passing on for a friend - If you have connections, that would be terrific
"I am humbled by having to write this. Looking for a position as an entertainment & lifestyle reporter & producer. I have been on air for years and also been behind the scenes field producing since I got out of college 10 years ago. I have been extremely blessed and lucky to have been very busy with work over the years. I have a 5 year old daughter and 2 year old twins (sound familiar to Jen's family?...except I am done and she is super duper mom with 2 more on the way). I have always managed to have a great career and family balance for so long. Since the strike, it has greatly had an impact on my work. I have worked for CBS and Warner Brother's tv departments and Paramount's film department for a long time. However, after the strike started, lots of my work went away...at least for now and had a detrimental impact on me and my family's life. I am wondering if you and anyone you know is in need of someone with great people skills and interviewing skills. I have interviewed hundreds of people from regular lifestyle pieces to hundreds of celebrities. I covered all American Idol news last year for Fox News as their affiliate reporter and do many set visits for various shows and movies. I love interviewing and being out covering exciting stories for many types of shows. If you have anyone you could pass this along to, I would be forever grateful. It is amazing how quickly your world can become turned upside down. When you have a family, you can't just sit back and wait for work to come your way. So, with this, I get this information out there for anyone who may need me in any way!! Here is a link for my reel and will be glad to get you a resume and bio if you are interested - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7683222439242454391&hl=en. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Lululemon-Calabasas and ACT Today! (Autism Care and Treatment Today!)
March 20th from 7:00pm-10:00pm
Autism is an epidemic, 1 in every 150 children are currently diagnosed. On April 19th-20th, Nationally known ultra marathoner Shannon Farar-Griefer will run “Wyatt’s Run” for autism. The 24 hour run will benefit ACT Today! The purpose of the run is to raise awareness and desperately needed funds to provide necessary medical and therapeutic treatment to individuals suffering with autism. The run signifies the 24 hour a day struggles families suffering with autism endure. Lululemon Athletica Clothing Store is hosting a pre-run red carpet event to promote awareness, donations, and pledges for ACT. Every year, ACT raises donations by pairing with ultramarathoner Shannon in a 24-hour run for autism! The event will be huge (last year, about 500 people showed up!), so this is a great opportunity to impact the community and to support a GREAT cause! Catering will be provided by Marmalade Café, as well as hosted bar featuring wine tasting by HOPE Wine. The event will include a silent and live auction, and an amazing array of entertainment provided by recording artist Thorn Hill, Stereofix, and NonP. RSVP to the event at Calabasas-store at lululemon.com. There is no cost to attend the event, donations will be accepted at both the Lululemon Calabasas location up until the date of the run, and the day of the run in Hidden Hills. Donations for ACT Today! can also be made at www.act-today.org. Anyone interested in signing up to run a leg in the run, sponsor someone running, or to sponsor Shannon, please go to the website and download a run form. Run forms will also be available at Lululemon’s Calabases location. Anyone interested in matching donations or volunteering for the run, please e-mail Jamie at Jamie at act-today.org

Sage Pre-School is expanding!
The following classes will be offered in September:
Classes: (Age as of 9/1/08)
“Yellow Room”: Age 2.0
“Purple Room”: Age 2.6
“Green Room”: Age 3.0
“Blue Room”: Age 3.0
Pre-Kindergarten: Age 4.0
Early Kindergarten (Academic Option): Age 4.6
Kindergarten: Age 5.0
(Plus Elementary classes grades 1-6)
Besides the Waiting List, an equally important reason to expand is the ability to accommodate differences in developmental levels in children. Two year olds, for example, will benefit greatly by being divided into younger and older classes. Their readiness for activities at that age varies so widely! The Lead Teachers for each class have been established, (all are current Sage teachers!), and all of the current Assistants (pending college schedules) are returning. New play equipment will be installed, offering a wider variety of activities on the playground. The Pre-K will be located in the current Kindergarten classroom, which offers more space for centers, etc. Pre-K children will continue to receive Music and Computer specialties once each week, as well as a new P.E. program. Early Kindergarten: For children 4.6 or older by September 1, they are offering a combined class with the Kindergarten, taught by a fabulous Kindergarten teacher. This is an academic option for children who demonstrate the desire and readiness for a slightly more structured approach. Reading and Math curriculum will be taught in small groups, in an individualized and nurturing way. As with Kindergarten, children will attend Computers three times a week, Music twice a week, Art once a week, and P.E. daily! Uniforms will be required. Growing is an exciting prospect. While the new classes allow for a richer, fuller program, the priority will always be to maintain a small school setting, where each child is nurtured and cared for. www.sageacademy.net/

One2One Network
A group of socially connected women in the 25-54 age range who, by joining the Network, will have the opportunity to try various products and services (things like entertainment, beauty, wellness, electronics, toys, food & beverage products and more). Besides free product, there will be special coupons and offers for the Network as well. There is also the opportunity to get more involved (and possibly PAID) if you want and help spread the word about these products. What `getting more involved' means is that you might be asked to pass out some samples to your friends, do some postings on any blogs or online groups you're involved in, put some fliers or posters up around your local community, put a magnet on your car for a short time or maybe even host and in-home party to try-out new products with your friends. (NO SELLING--don't worry!) It's probably what you do now anyway but don't get anything for it. It doesn't involve a lot of your time because the projects usually mesh into your daily routine anyway. It's a great way to add something fun and different into your life and a chance to connect with other women, too! Networkers are needed all over the country so send it to your college roommates, your cousins, your sister-in-law where ever they may live in the U.S. Get in early on this fun Networking opportunity. If you’re interested, go to http://www.one2onenetwork.com and click on Join. If you can, list (Jen) as the person who referred you! :-)

Wanted - Family to share babysitting responsibilities
We are looking for another family (or families) who might want to do a little shared babysitting. My husband stays at home full time with our 2 ½ year old & 1 year old, and also works as a massage therapist in the evenings. He has acting auditions during the day 2-3 times a week, and we’re looking for someone in a similar situation who would be willing to babysit for a couple of hours in exchange for us babysitting when the other family needs help. The auditions are at all different times of day, so it’s hard to schedule a regular nanny or babysitter. We’d be happy to provide references from other families that we’re friends with, and spend some time getting to know the other family before any actual babysitting took place. Please contact me at noisefunkfan at yahoo.com or 818-667-4601 if you’re interested. Thanks – Ellen Gould-Silcott.
Psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults and families
Have you ever felt unable to cope with life’s challenges on your own? Do you wish you had the tools to cope with the ever changing world around you whether it be those major life cycle events like the birth of a child, changes and conflict in your marriage, the illness or loss of a loved one or the many demands of your multiple roles? Do you feel like it’s time to stop being everything to everyone and start taking care of some of your own needs? Have you ever considered speaking to a therapist about these issues? Dionne Lipman, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mom on “Jen’s List” that provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults and families in a non-judgmental, empathic environment. For the past seven and a half years, respect, support and genuineness have guided her practice. Dionne has worked with both children and adults in outpatient counseling centers, schools and residential treatment programs. Together you and Dionne can formulate goals tailored to you or your family’s needs and work collaboratively to achieve them. Therapy affords you the opportunity to move away from feeling “stuck” and overwhelmed and towards a more manageable and meaningful life. Let her know you are a parent on the Jen’s list and receive 40% off your initial session. Dionne’s office is located in Encino in the San Fernando Valley between the Balboa and White Oak exits off the 101 Freeway.
