Super energetic stay at home Mother of twins is looking to work part time while her kids are in school. She's available 9:00am to 11:00am everyday and is extremely conscientious. She is available until June 19th. Some of you may know her from her involvement in the SFVMOMC, it's Lori Kalman! She'd love to run errands for you, or type up that letter you've been meaning to get to, or mail back that item that you "just don't seem to get around to". She's very versatile and is a super coupon shopper that will help get you the best deal. She knows how sometimes, it is difficult to shop with twins, so let her grab those items at the store for you. She provides a list that you check off and email back what items you are getting low on. She only charges for the time she spends in the market or at the post office and her rates are very reasonable. Other clients she has worked for have said that she saves them considerable money because they never end up "impulse buying" and the fact that she constantly tries to get the best deal with coupons can really pay off. She'll stock your pantry and kitchen just in time for the weekend and you'll be ready to roll! If you are interested, email Lori at l at kalman.org.

Momspace
WONDERFUL WIPES: Can we all agree that baby wipes aren't just for babies anymore? And the wipes I love best are the Kirkland Signature brand sold at Costco. To read why, and to take our survey on the endless uses for wipes, see www.insidesocal.com/lamama.
WORKING MOM IN PRINT: In a recent post on the Wall Street Journal's excellent blog, The Juggle (http://blogs.wsj.com/juggle), one parent was complaining about the lack of picture books showing mothers going off to work, even though that's the reality for two-thirds of U.S. families. I found a few you can buy at Amazon or eBay: "The Berenstain Bears and Mama's New Job," "My Mum Goes to Work," and "When Mom Goes to Work."

The Roscomare School Booster Club annual fundraiser
Silent and Live Auction on May 3, 2008.
We are raising funds to maintain our uniquely high educational standards and to purchase needed education materials and supplies. In light of ongoing state and school district budget cuts, we need your help now more than ever. Roscomare Road School has consistently scored in the top 10% of public schools in the State of California for Academic Performance testing. It is through the generosity of community members that we are able to achieve these outstanding results year after year. Last year our Auctions raised more than $70,000, which funded textbooks, computer equipment and instruction, science assemblies, art and music programs, instructional aides and an expansion and improvement of our school library. We are an LAUSD public school (grades Kindergarten - 5th) with families from Bel Air, Sherman Oaks, Encino and surrounding areas. We are reaching out to the community and the establishments to help us reach our goals - maintaining the educational excellence that is the hallmark of Roscomare Road School. Anything you can donate in the way of goods, services or funds will receive well-deserved recognition and thanks. We will be listing the names of all our donors in our Auction Catalogue, which is distributed to over 500 families. Best of all, every donation is tax-deductible. All donations must be in by March 31, 2008. Please contact Karen Pollack if you would like to make a donation. kpollack at ppmgcorp.com or 310-488-2837.
