Send your kids to Willow Elementary School in Agoura Hills
The Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) currently has low in enrollment in the upper grades (4th and 5th). The school district officials would welcome new students from other districts if they applied for an interdistrict transfer. In the past, it's always been difficult to get into the LVUSD and you had to show proof that you lived in the area. Now, if there are parents who work in Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Westlake, or nearby areas who live in the Valley and would like to have their children go to school near where they work, they can apply for a transfer. The district needs kids...housing prices in the area are so high that young families can't afford to move there and the school district enrollment is dwindling. Once a child has been accepted to the LVUSD they can not be kicked out. For more info, please email deanna-g at sbcglobal.net

Share a 4-bedroom flat in Duboce Triangle/Castro for $1,100/month - looking for someone to share a great 4-bedroom flat. It's very close to the Castro Safeway and right on all of the MUNI lines. have two cats so would prefer not to add to the menagerie but could consider a small to medium sized cat-and-person-friendly dog. The targeted move-in date is July 15.
About me: I'm a 34-year-old professional woman. Most weeknights, you'll find me at home cooking a meal, watching a movie, reading a book or catching up on the magazines and editions of the Sunday NYT that tend to pile up on the coffee table. I'd like to find someone who is looking for a warm and friendly living environment, not just a place to crash.
About you: A male or female preferably 30 or older. I note age only because I'm looking for someone who is more settled and less likely to come crashing home from the bar at two o'clock in the morning. If this describes you and you're in your 20's, by all means get in touch. I'd prefer someone who works regular hours so we don't have to tiptoe around each other's schedules. We have a great housekeeper who comes twice a month (your share for the service would be $90/month) and I try to keep things pretty clean in the in-between weeks, so looking for someone who is conscientious about putting dishes in the dishwasher, etc.
About the apartment: I've spent the past year upgrading with new carpet, paint and grown-up furniture. The layout is a traditional Victorian railroad -- long and narrow. There are two bedrooms, an office, a guest room, one bathroom a sunny living room and kitchen toward the back of the apartment with access to a shared backyard. The kitchen has a dishwasher but there's no on-site laundry. I use the wash and fold place next door or a laundromat across the street. Closets are small-ish but there is one in each bedroom including the guest room, and there is a big coat/linen/sports equipment closet in the hallway.
Monthly bills are AT&T/Yahoo DSL, Comcast digital cable and PG&E. Would be happy to provide a monthly bill estimate. Email Alisa Weinstein at alisaweinstein at gmail.com

We would like to take this opportunity to offer you our home at a discounted price, before we sign up with a real estate agent. We are going to be putting our house back on the market on July 15th. Our house was on the market last year and we received a full price offer, but unfortunately the timing was not right for us. With the change in market conditions and our need to sell, we are reducing the offer price by over $100,000. The house was listed last year at $819,950. Today we are willing to sell at $695,000 without a broker and $729,000 with a broker. Please visit our website at www.7160gateshead.com to view our home. Please do NOT contact the broker listed on the site as this will not allow us to sell at the reduced price. We hope you love our home as much as we do. It is a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2000+ sq. ft, newly updated and remodeled home on the top of a cul de sac in a very quiet and private neighborhood. The local schools for the area are Pomelo Elementary, Hale Junior High and El Camino High School. If you are interested in our home, please contact us by phone at 818-704-7655 or via email at kelncraig at sbcglobal.net. In order for us to sell at the $695,000 we need to know that you are interested so that we can notify the realtor and have your name placed on an exclusion list that will not subject us to the standard commission fees, therefore keeping the price at a discount. Thank you for viewing our home and we hope to hear from you soon. We are very flexible in regard to escrow dates and times.

Letty Armstrong is a WONDERFUL nanny. She is currently in between nanny jobs since her family moved. She filled in for my nanny when she was out of town and she made it a flawless transition. Letty was not only an amazing caretaker of my 22 month old daughter, but she was a great caretaker of our family. This was not part of the job, but by her own accord when my daughter was sleeping, she did laundry and kept the house spotless. She can cook and is capable of running the house. She speaks fluent English, drives a safe car and is really a lovely soul. She kept my daughter busy by taking walks, playing with play-doh, singing and dancing - you name it, they did it. She is near the south bay, so prefers work on the Westside - preferably between Marina del Rey and Hermosa Beach. She is also up for babysitting and housecleaning until she finds a full-time nanny job again. I can't recommend her enough. Please contact her on her cell phone, 323-493-9656. If you want a referral you can call Joy at 310-487-7489.
AND
I don't need my nanny 5 days a week anymore, and that I am missing some good quality time with my 16 month old daughter. SO, I am trying to help Gladis find a family that needs help 2 days a week. Gladis is amazing! She drives, is legal, speaks English (can have a conversation in English, not broken English), has a loving/kind/gentle way about her and even tidies the house. I trust her enough that I recently left her alone in my home with my 2 kids and 2 dogs for a week! She is a true gem and any family would be blessed to have her in their home. I am planning on keeping Gladis 3 days a week, but can be flexible with the other 2 days. If you are interested, or know someone who may be, please call Ronda at 818-448-2305.
AND
There is a woman at my daughter's "school" that is looking for work from June 28th through the beg of August because the owner of the
school closes for a month. Her name is Hadas, she is fluent in English and Hebrew is around 40, has children of her own and is absolutely
wonderful. She is available days or nights and would be a good solution for those of you who have schools/day cares that are also closing for
some time during the summer. I trust her 100% and my daughter runs to her every morning and jumps into her arms. She lives in Reseda/Northridge and can also babysit at night. She can be reached at 818668-7112. Thanks! Sara sbrooks7 at socal.rr.com

My nanny is currently available on Fridays and weekends and will be available 4 days a week beginning in Sept. My daughter is starting preschool and I will no longer need Carmen. She has been with us for 1 1/2 years and is great. We will miss her... She speaks English, has a car, and is very reliable. She is interested in the San Fernando Valley only. Please call Carmen at 818-904-9934. Thanks, Ali - spencerandali at sbcglobal.net

My amazing nanny, Ana, will be available starting July 21st, Tuesday through Friday. She can work 7am to 3pm or 8am to 4pm. I can not speak highly enough about her beautiful way with children. She is kind, gentle, fun and a great listener. She has even taken a class on child development! She will also keep the kitchen clean, do the laundry and help to keep the house tidy (not the heavy scrubbing). She will work anywhere between Studio City and Tarzana. Feel free to call/email me with any questions. Susan Thorpe: cell- 310-880-5296 -

Looking to share my amazing nanny with someone. My nanny has been working for me for over 2 years and has taken care of my 3 children while I was working. Two of children are starting Kinder in the Fall, so I will not need her as much. She is so amazing and my children just adore her. She drives, speaks great English, and is incredibly dependable. I am looking to find work for her on Mondays and Wednesdays for at least 7 hours a day. I will have her on Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays. She would like to work with someone that lives between Encino and Studio City. If you would like more details, please email me at daisynu at aol.com and I can answer any questions.

West Valley Girls Softball (WVGS) is in eminent danger of losing their "Home" field at Hughes Middle School in Woodland Hills.
This is a LAUSD school that is also an adult learning center (no longer an actual middle school). The girls have been playing at that field for many years since they had to leave their previous fields at Canoga Park High school after a gang gunfight left the girls lying face down on the field in fear for their lives. A lot of money has been invested in the improvement of the fields at Hughes, including backstops, fan benches, dugouts, snack shack and cutting the infield. Hundreds of girls have grown up playing softball in this league and gone on to play for El Camino High School and on to college scholarships! Please keep in mind that the boys baseball has a beautiful sports complex on Valley Circle in Woodland Hills, and the girl's facilities are absolutely NOTHING in comparison! Here's the issue: Apparently, a local soccer club has been going around and leasing all of the available field space in the area and is now after the WVGS fields. It appears they placed a bid and LAUSD are doing everything they can to allow the soccer club to take over the facility - all over a measly couple hundred dollars!!!!!! What they need: An attorney, public official or someone in the capacity to help STOP LAUSD from giving away the fields the girls of the West Valley so desperately need - and deserve. This is completely WRONG in so many ways. LAUSD and WVGS have had a working partnership for many years and there is no reason to make any changes, least of all for minuscule monetary considerations. WVGS needs someone to help them take action NOW. They have until MONDAY to stop this action. Call Nicole at 310-780-4177 for more info. If the league loses the fields, they will have no choice but to fold the league.
