 Hey, everyone - the above workshop is something my 9 year old daughter Eloise is enrolled in this summer.  It is taught by some incredibly wonderful, fun, talented, experienced singer/dancer/actor/composer/writer friends of mine (I've worked with them all as writing collaborators, one of them was a teacher/director at the theater program at My Gym on Centinela, and two of them ran the musical theater program at Lincoln Middle school for years.)  I am a member of the organization running it (The Academy for New Musical Theatre) and can whole-heartedly recommend both the place, the teachers, and the program. BUT!!!  They are under enrolled and may have to cancel the class. (Boo!) I am hoping to get a few more kids to sign up so this fun, educational, and one-of-a-kind workshop doesn't have to be cancelled and everyone can benefit!  One of the best things about it is that it's only a few days - not a long commitment - so when your kid has had enough hanging around, is finally bored with swimming and watching TV, and you want to get him/her out of the house for a few days and involved in a short, fun project but not tie them up for the whole summer, this can be great!  And...I'm offering to drive them there and back!  (It's in North Hollywood...but remember, it's only one half day on Saturday and three half days on weekdays with a final performance one Saturday evening). Also, if the full enrollment comes from Santa Monica (where two of the three teachers also live), I might be able to convince them to run the workshop on this side of town...So, if you have a kid who loves "High School Musical" and all that, and is "addicted" to YouTube - this is "da bomb"!
