Hope everyone had a great weekend. I came home from the hospital to over 1000+ emails and did my best last week to go thru them all. I will get back into the swing of things soon - its going to take me a while to make heads or tails out of all the wonderful info I rec'd. Please be patient as Jens List gets back underway. Matthew and Joey came home yesterday, they are doing well and we are so happy to have them with us.

NannyBabysitter/Housekeeper Leads
My grandparents have had a temporary housekeeper for the past few weeks (their housekeeper has been on vacation). Her name is Leticia Pizana and she is looking for a full time job (5 days a week, m-f, 9:00-5:00). She would be open to 2-3 work days during the week if she can find 2 part time jobs. She lives in Los Angeles and doesn't drive (she takes the bus). She is currently working on the westside but, is open to other areas that are accessible via public transportation. She speaks little English but, can communicate with no problem. She is very smart, sweet, responsible, trustworthy, friendly, neat, timely, cleans great, doesn't rush out at the end of the day, aims to please, is great at organizing closets, and knows her way around the kitchen i.e. can make a beautiful fruit plate and can do basic things in the kitchen. She is really a housekeeper and not a nanny although she has 2 young children who are both in school so, she might be open to helping with kids. Prospective employer would have to ask her. She is looking for a cleaning job and can possibly do some light cooking upon further training as well. I mean this in the nicest way but, my grandma is very picky and has had help in her house for over 45 years (both live-in and live-out). So, if this woman impressed her, she must have done something right. Plus, my grandparents don't speak Spanish at all and they have been able to communicate with Leticia (once their current housekeeper trained her for this temporary job). They have been paying her $100 a day and cannot say enough good things about her. She could work for a family with kids (as most Jen's list members have kids) but, 1) you would have to ask her if she is open to that and 2) she would also be great for your parents, grandparents, etc... My grandma said she is really a doll and we would love to find her a job. If you are interested (and can speak Spanish), Leticia's number is 323.369.3843 (home). For a reference, call Greta Kibrick at 310.470.4346, best times to call are between 8am and 10am and 4pm to 6pm (please do not call past 7:30pm). If you have any other questions, please email me at dlgarfin at gmail.com.

Our Nanny of 10 years is leaving...She has been with us since the birth of our first child. She stayed even after I had twins 6 years ago! Her English is very good, she drives and has a reliable car. She has also done housekeeping (I paid her extra) and made the kids dinner when we weren't there. She has one of the most amazing work ethics I have ever seen. I think I could count the times she was late or sick in 10 years. I had to practically push her out the door when it was time to leave...My husband and I helped her get her green card and she became an American citizen about a year ago. Both my husband and I work and I have been able to leave the house knowing our children were happy and extremely well-cared for. We trust her implicitly. I cannot speak highly enough about her. She is truly a part of our family. She is married and has a young child of her own now, and with my children finally all in school, we didn't need full-time help any longer and she needs to work full time. She lives near USC but commuted to our home in Tarzana...Lucky is the family that hires SILVIA IBARRA. Her number is 323-528-7684. You can also contact Debi Maslansky 818-758-9999 for a reference or more info.

Just wanted to put the word out there. My wonderful Nanny and house keeper of 4 years, needs to fill up her work week with an extra day to support her family. If you need help cleaning your house, or need help with the children and around the house, she is the perfect person to have in your home. Her schedule is flexible now, so she is available either Wed. Thurs. or Fridays. She is an amazing soul, WONDERFUL with children, and an EXCELLENT cleaner! My two boys are IN LOVE with her. She is very loyal, and a good friend as well. Please e-mail me if you or someone you know needs someone to help once a week. Preferably in the Valley area. Thanks, Kia at meandminime

Our nanny, Margarita, has been with us for almost 2 years, watching our two boys full-time. We are moving out of town - sad to lose her - and want to find a great family for her to keep working with. She's got tons of experience with kids of all ages (she started when our youngest was 2 months old), she drives, speaks English well and is fully documented. She may be willing to do some light housework, cleaning and laundry. She's got a wonderful teenage son of her own and they have both become like family. We live in Sherman Oaks, but she is willing to work in a number of locations. We\'ll be moving around July 1. If you are interested, please call me at 818.216.4004.
AND
Josefina is looking for full time nanny/housekeeper work for $12-15/hr. She has worked for the same family for 6 years, but their children are now both in school. She is an excellent house cleaner and the children absolutely love her like a grandma. She has a "magic way" about her with babies. She speaks only Spanish and does not drive. She lives in the Van Nuys area and takes the bus so would ideally like work in the east valley. References are available. For any questions, please phone Karen at 818.671.7454.
AND
Temp Nanny Available - June & July - Allison is taking maternity leave from her work starting next week through August 11th. She is looking for someone who needs a nanny during this time anywhere from 1-4 days/week. Again, this is just until August 1 and then she will have her back full time. Her nanny has been with her over a year. She drives (not her kids) and is extremely trustworthy and caring. She also does housekeeping. She cares for her 2 year old and newborn. If you are interested, please contact her at alkrum at sbcglobal.net.
