Teens now have a fitness 'hub' they can call their own! 
Until O2 MAX opened its doors,  gyms have traditionally catered to toddlers and young children or to adults 18 and over. Now, with O2 MAX, teens can focus on the mind/body/spirit in a parent-free zone designed for working out, hanging out, doing homework, meeting friends, downloading music or prepping for a test with a tutor from The Princeton Review---all at the gym! O2 MAX is the culmination of a dream for its founder, Karen Jashinsky, Certified trainer, nutritionist and MBA.She has spent the last four years training teens in schools, community centers, parks and anywhere else she could find space, laying the groundwork for O2 MAX.  Last year she was recognized for the development of her visionary concept of a fitness 'hub' and safe haven for teens and named "One of the 25 young leaders in the fitness industry" by IHRSA (International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association), the fitness trade organization. She also started an annual free music and fitness festival for teens called ENERGY ROCKS, now in its third year. And last month she initiated an online "Prom/Summer Fitness Challenge" to empower teens from all over to gain insight into self-esteem and body image. She has authored articles on teen fitness, health and nutrition for LA Parent, LA Family and was herself, the subject of a five-part series called "Diary of a Startup" in ENTREPRENEUR MAGAZINE. Tips on Fighting the War on Lice
·   Mayonnaise, olive oil and Cetaphil can help jumpstart the fight.  Before bed, slather hair with one of the products and sleep in a shower cap.  In the morning, comb hair with lice comb and follow with hair wash.
·   The best defense is the "hands on" offense.  Separate hair into small sections.  Carefully look at each section.  Using your fingernails or specially designed tweezers, gently pull off each visible nit.
·   If you can flick it - leave it.  Eggs and nits glue themselves to hair and must be pulled off.  Dandruff, hairspray, product and general "schmootz" can be flicked off.   
·   Comb, comb and then, comb again.  Comb entire head with lice comb as often as possible.
·   Keep a pot out for combs, brushes, clips, etc.  As soon as you use a comb, put it in the pot.  Used items must be boiled for 20 minutes or  soaked in alcohol for 20 minutes.
·   Put all items that cannot be washed, i.e., stuffed animals, hats, covers, in a sealed plastic bag for two weeks.
·   Change pillowcases every night - bed sheets for the first 3 nights.
·   Vacuum everything - better safe than sorry. 
·   Remember - you're bigger then they are.when in doubt- clean it out!
