Jason's Race
On March 11, 2008, four-month-old Jason Allen Lutz passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In order to do something positive in Jason’s memory, his family is hosting a 5K walk/run. As you may be aware, SIDS is the sudden, unexpected death of an infant that remains unexplained after all known and possible causes have been ruled out. It is the number one cause of death for infants one month to one year of age, claiming the lives of 2,100 babies in the United States each year. Historically SIDS has been a mystery, leaving behind devastated families and bewildered physicians. Today, we are beginning to find some answers--such as factors that increase the risks for SIDS and actions that parents can take to reduce those risks. This event will help raise SIDS awareness, and all proceeds will benefi t SIDS research.

Acting and Modeling Classes
Is your child interested in taking acting and/or modeling classes at the Oaks community center this fall? Resident Debbie Entin, former actress/ model and talent manager who currently represents kids and young adults in television shows, commercials, film, print and modeling will be teaching both acting and modeling classes starting in September.  Debbie’s clients have appeared in shows like Out of Jimmy’s Head, Ugly Betty, ER, Zoey 101, Cory In the House, Dexter, The Closer, How I met Your Mother, CSI, Everybody Hates Chris and commercials such as McDonalds, Pepsi, Saturn, Ford, KFC, Coca Cola, Disneyland, and Barbie to name a few. The acting classes will teach your child stage presence, build confidence and create a strong technical foundation. During the pendency of the classes Debbie will provide real life interactive tools such as theater games, improvisation, commercials, cold reading and mock interviews to prepare your child to enter the world of acting. The modeling classes will not only teach your child about the modeling business but also help build a portfolio as well. Your child will have the opportunity to shoot with top photographers and work on their technique.  Each “photo shoot” will be a unique experience with varying themes.  By the end of the class, each child will have a complete modeling portfolio and marketable modeling card.
