The Pajama Program
In the city of Los Angeles, there are hundreds of children living in group homes. These children don't get to snuggle up at night for a bedtime story or a special tuck in with their moms and dads. In fact, many of these children don't even have a warm pair of pajamas to call their own.
Two Valley moms want to help. But they need your help! As part of the Pajama Program (you may have seen this organization on Oprah), they are throwing a "Pajama Party". Come by and drop off a NEW pair of PJs (the biggest need is for kids 13-18), have a cup of cocoa and teach your kids a lesson about giving.  They will also arrange for alternative drop off dates if you are not available on the 26th.  They will then personally take all of the pajamas collected to a group home that has been selected by the Pajama Program located right here in the valley. Let's collect as many pajamas as we can so the children of L.A. can all have a cozy winter! Unleash your imagination. Sessions can be catered toward a special event, but often the daily activities are what are most precious. Capture a typical day so that you may remember the small moments, those we often overlook. Breakfast, story time, the bath, family dinner, a walk to the park or pool. and let's not forget the myriad of emotions your little one experiences each day. There are many galleries as well as information regarding what they are all about; reviews are also posted on the rates page showing what they can do for confidence and self acceptance. These sessions are SO fun, and are really wonderful for self esteem and finding one's beauty. As moms, we often put ourselves last and these sessions give women some time to feel beautiful. The day includes hair and makeup (to feel pampered!), along with a full photo shoot. Negatives are always given, along with prints. Sessions are catered toward the client's comfort level, but always show their form in a beautiful light... 
 

Dog with cancer
Tricia's dog has tumors in his bladder and the vet is pretty sure it is cancer. He wants her to take him to an oncologist. Does anyone have any experience with dogs with cancer, or a referral for an animal oncologist? Any leads, please email triciaconverse at sbcglobal.net

Show for moms and caregivers
Channel 8-"A Place of Our Own"- this is a wonderful daily program on KCET/PBS that discusses topics that caregivers face with children...from moms to nannys to day care providers. Check it out and their website sums up the topics from each day as well.   www.aplaceofourown.org  
They have different topics and then a panel of a mom, a grandma, a preschool teacher etc to discuss the topic...so cool!
