These animals need a home
Passed along from friends:
Beautiful, papered, full breed Basque Sheep Herding dog. He was a gift from the Spanish government to my friend's husband for his work in the sheep herding field.  Unfortunatley, 6 weeks before Dio and Kathy's twins were born, Dio died.  This left Kathy with twins and two businesses to run herself.  She just isn't able to do it, and this dog is wonderful.  He is not a 'working' dog, but a companion.  He is one of 2 of his type in the country. We are looking for a home for Copper, a greyhound mix with a beautiful brindle color and copper eyes.  He was brought to VCA and now his owner doesn't want to pay his bill and basically told them he didn't want him back. He's been at the clinic since then but now the managers are saying that he needs to be gone by next weekend or he will be sent to the pound.  He is a sweet dog. He loves dogs, cats, and kids... everyone who meets him says how great he is. All of the vet techs say they want him but that they already have 5 or 6 dogs of their own. He has gone home for weekend visits with one of the receptionists and does fine with all of her animals. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready to go to a home for the new year. He weighs about 65 lbs. He is very active and incredibly smart. While I stood there I watched him open his pen and let himself out for a walk. So he will need someone who can keep up with him and has very tall fences with good latches.  He loves to cuddle on the couch! Our dogs found this puppy on our back patio this morning.  We took her to the vet and she unfortunately does not have a micro-chip to identify her.  They say she's not even 10 weeks old and is a chihuahua and minicher pincher mix.  She's beyond sweet - Virginia Grace has been carrying her around all day. If you have kids - this dog is made for you - she's so, so loving.  We'd actually like to keep her, but seeing how we have the new born baby, the toddler, and two dogs it's simply not an option at this point. If this isn't the right time for you as well, could you please help this sweet puppy and forward this to everyone you know in the LA area?  We'd like to find her a home ASAP as I'm fearful the longer we have her the harder it will be for Virginia Grace to say "goodbye".  The two are playing chase right now and it's just heartbreaking.
