Portrait of a 40-year marriage
Burbank photographer Harvey Branman is taking free artistic portraits of couples that have been together for 40 or more years(so tell your folks!!!!). He plans to turn the shots into a book with the couple's philosophies of why they've stayed married while so many others have not. If you have been married 40 plus years, Harvey is offering a free portrait session and one 8 x 10 print (normally $75 to $100). If you want more prints you have to pay for them. The cost of the portrait session is folded into the cost of the prints, which run from $35 for four wallet size photos to $1,850 for a mounted 40" x 50" portrait. Wanting to learn to sew?
Here's your chance!.....Starting Wednesday Feb. 20th Sandbox Rebel will begin offering sewing and crafting classes!!  Sewing classes will start with the absolute most basic (learing about your machine, how to thread it, and how to get started) and will go all the way up to basic patternmaking, alterations, and sewing from a commercial pattern. fun! Sewing classes will take place every-other Wednesday night starting at 7pm, and the crafting classes will be on each alternate Wednesday. Classes are approximately 1 hour long.  They encourage you to bring your own sewing machine to class, but if you don't have one, they MAY be able to rent you one (depending on availability) for class time for an additional $5 per class. (please ask about this when signing up!) Crafting classes will include things like embroidery, scrapbooking, applique pillows.... and lots of other simple and fun projects! And make a GREAT "mom's night out"!!
You may sign up for classes on a "buy as you go basis" $25 per class, or you may buy a 5 class pass for $100 (giving you one class free!)
