We have a 10 year old girl, a 9 year old boy and a 2 1/2 year boy. Our middle child is a special needs child, and she has been wonderful with him. Amazing available nanny: We are moving out of the LA area and are losing Angela, our wonderful nanny or two years. She is a true gem: gentle hearted, patient, hard working, and faultlessly honest. She has taken care of our daughter since she was four months old, is diligent about safety and our daughter loves her. She speaks English, drives, and is CPR certified, with many years of nanny experience and glowing recommendations. When I was around, she was great about cleaning the house, helping with errands and helping with our dog. Whoever gets her next is very lucky... call her directly at (213) 280-4790, or you can e-mail Natalie at talieshum at hotmail.com

Our nanny of over 4 years has some extra hours available. Maria works with us every afternoon (Woodland Hills area) and is with 2 other families during weekday mornings. She needs more hours so is looking to fill Tuesday and Friday mornings, minimum 4-5 hrs each up to apprx 1pm. She would like to find somebody who needs both of these days instead of 2 separate families. She is also available all day Saturday (either with same family or different family) Maria has been with us since our twins were born 4 1/2 years ago and as they are at preschool, our hours keep decreasing. She is wonderful with the kids and they love her. She also helps out with cleaning when the kids nap (which they really don't do much any longer). She is very gentle, reliable and trustworthy, speaks English well and has her own car. For further info, please email:martiem at mac.com or call me at 818-222 1237. I will pass messages on to Maria.
AND
I am trying to find a new family for our nanny, Mila, who has been wonderful to us. Mila started with us when my twin boys were four months old and they will be 3 shortly. Unfortunately we can no longer afford keep her, but if we could, we would have her stay with us for so much longer.
Mila's personality is outgoing and she loves to sing songs with the kids and dance. She would take them on walks and play games and make art projects with them. She was great with giving advice when needed but also with letting me set a routine that she then followed each day. Her personality is infectious and my kids would be so happy every morning when she arrived. When the kids were sleeping, Mila would clean up the kitchen, do the laundry and clean the floors around the house (we also have two dogs). While this was just some light cleaning, when our cleaning person was out of town, Mila took those hours on as well as a favor to us and did a full cleaning of our house for the week so I know she is capable of more if it's part of her job description. Mila is originally from Guatemala, but has been in the US since the age of 15 and is a citizen. She and her husband have three children, two grown girls and a boy who's a senior in high school. She drives and speaks English very well. In the entire time Mila worked for us, she never called in sick and was never late once. She also would babysit for us on occasion on weekdays and Saturday nights. Mila is also an amazing person outside of her job with us. She is a central figure in her church, constantly finding jobs for other members as well as collecting clothes and other items to ship back to her home town in Guatemala each year.Mila lives near downtown and can work anywhere on the west side or in the valley. She is looking for 8-hour days 3-5 days a week. I am happy to give as much more information as needed to find her a new family as we are so incredibly sad to see her go.

Rosane is 43 years old woman from Brazil with a kind and pleasant nature. She has extensive experience as a nanny caring for infants and twins. She holds a CPR / First Aid Certificate recognized by the American Red Cross. She owns her vehicle and is very punctual. Her rate is $12-15 an hour - a small price to pay for the excellent service she will provide in the safety of your home. She has excellent letters of reference and you are encouraged to call the families she has worked for in the past. Please contact her at: rborzani2005 at yahoo.com

AND
HAVE NANNY TO SHARE - We have hired a new nanny (our current one is moving back to Oregon), and only need her part-time, from 1:00-6:00 pm., M-F. Is it possible that you are interested in a part-time nanny in the mornings? We interviewed her last week and she is fantastic. Our 18-month-old son took to her right away (normally he requires a warm-up period). She is the kind of nanny who likes to create activities for your kids, and plays & interacts with our son A LOT. When our son is napping she does the dishes, tidies up the kitchen and prepares food for him. She is registered with two Beverly Hills nanny agencies (i.e., has had background checks), is certified in CPR / First Aid, speaks English, has her own car and a bright and cheery personality. She has a website that includes references, which you can check out at www.RachelAgius.com. The best situation would be a family in Agoura, Calabasas, Woodland Hills, West Hills, Hidden Hills, Topanga, Tarzana, or other areas in the west side of the SFV so there is not too long of a commute between the two part-time positions. Thanks, and feel free to contact me if you would like to explore it further. Debra at AuthenticallySpeaking.net. Rachel's contact information is also on her website if you'd like to contact her directly.

Body Image, Self-Esteem and the Media:
A Support and Discussion Group for Teenage Girls
Location: Beverly Hills, California
Date and Time: TBD
Fee: $500 for 10 sessions
Duration: Ten weeks, with the opportunity to continue
Facilitator: Lucy Rimalower, M.A.
Fact: The more teenage girls compare themselves to idealized TV images, the stronger their drive to be thin and the more dissatisfied they become with their bodies (Botta, 2003). This is a group for young women (age 14-18) grappling with the anxiety and pressure surrounding body image. Sessions will explore the unique issues facing the group, while building awareness of the broader cultural and media influences. The group will work to strengthen sense of self and improve body image and self-esteem.
For more information, please contact Lucy Rimalower at (310) 980-6329 or lucy at lucyrimalower.com
