Uplifting Music for Kids
Soaring is a CD project by the Oscar Litwak Foundation(http://www.oscarlitwakfoundation.org/). It is a compilation of 13 delightful children's songs that will surely please your little critics. With the generous participation of 8 independent bands and singer-songwriters, Soaring is yet another effort to raise awareness of the often neglected needs of sick and hospitalized children that spend most of their time isolated from everyday normal lives while receiving medical treatment, and that are in great need of entertainment to help alleviate the tediousness and hardships of being hospitalized. In appreciation for your generous donation of $18 or more, please accept a copy of the CD for you and your family to enjoy. For more information on Soaring-Uplifting Music for Kids or other Oscar Litwak Foundation projects, please e-mail: info at oscarlirtwakfoundation.org or call (310) 656-0818.

Contrary to Popular Belief, Moms Do Have a Few Brain Cells Left
After months spent in OB offices browsing parenting magazines that ran the gamut from mindless fun to downright annoying, there is something out there for moms that is actually literary. While we all love a good holiday cookie recipe or rainy day craft idea as much as the next gal, enter Brain Child, a magazine that no thinking mom should be without. Founded by two smart mamas themselves, Jennifer Niesslein and Stephanie Wilkinson, this is no little grassroots zine. Past issues have included essays from the likes of Barbara Kingsolver and Susan Cheever. Brain Child is accessible, it's fun, and it's smart. All for less than $20 http://www.brainchildmag.com:80/. A great gift for a new mother and to know you're not alone out there

Dogs need a home ASAP
Passing along for a friend:
"Last night my father-in-law found two dogs wet, shivering and dirty. He took them to the groomer this morning and had them bathed. They are lovely, sweet dogs. One is a pure German Shepherd male. The other is a Dalmation/Lab and just maybe a little Pit in her. They are probably 2-3 years old and inseparable. At the dog wash, the female dog cried and cried at being separated from him. They are very loving and once in a while, she kisses him on the face. After being bathed he looks magnificent, a little thin, while she is very pretty - white with caramel coloured spots. Apparently, the owners were somehow contacted and do not want the dogs back and don't care about them! My mother-in-law is taking them to be spayed and neutered and to get their shots. They deserve a good home, and my in-laws would keep them in a heartbeat, but they already have 3 dogs (and so do we). They must be kept together and are desperate for a safe & loving home. Plese email Shannah at tenner at sbcglobal.net"
