A Gymster class is starting on Tuesdays from 12:40pm - 1:40pm starting January 8th.  Up until now they only had a morning class for this age group and for those of us who have the kids signed up for school, it doesn't work in the morning.  So now you can go after school and get them really tired for a nap! Pease let me know who wants to sign up, so I can let Suzi(the owner) know if this class is a go or not. I am doing it with Ben and Josh. The cost is $145 for the 8 week session.

Advice to protect your identity
1.. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put "PHOTO ID REQUIRED." 
2.. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card Accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it. 
3.. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home Phone.  If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address.  Never have your SS# printed on your checks. (DUH!) You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have it printed, anyone can get it. 
4.. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine.  Copy both sides of each license, credit card, etc.  You will know what you had in
your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call to cancel.  Keep the photocopy in a safe place. Carry a photocopy of your passport when you travel either here or abroad.  We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards. 
5.. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call.  Keep those where you can find them.
6.. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc., were stolen.  This proves to credit providers you were
diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one) 
7.. Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud
line number.  The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit.

Nanny Lead
My wonderful former nanny, Socorro, is looking for part-time nanny work in the Valley.  She took care of my children for about six months, and I can tell you she was great with my son as he went through all the newborn and early infant stages, and was just as great with my toddler daughter.  She is loving, responsible, fun, totally trustworthy, and very safety-oriented (she has first aid and CPR training).  She also did light-housekeeping for me.  She is here legally, drives, and speaks pretty good English.  She is a mother of two, and the oldest sibling of 10 children, so she has many years of personal experience taking care of children, and many years of professional experience as a nanny.  I can\'t say enough good things about her, and... her rates are reasonable.  I would still be using her myself, but I now need someone afternoons only, and she prefers mornings (although she is willing to work some limited afternoon hours). Last night I was just curious and flipped our video monitor from A which is what we always have it on to B and thought it was strange to see a different view of our crib. After looking at it for a few minutes later, I realized that it was another baby’s crib.  It totally freaked me out b/c that means whoever has the same monitor can also be looking into our crib.  The neighbors 2 floors above us have a baby and maybe it was their crib I was seeing last night, but I couldn’t tell b/c the baby wasn’t in it. I called the manufacturer of the baby monitor which is Summer and learned that this is a very common problem….Any video monitor that has compatible Mega Hrtz (900 or 2.4) can pick up each other’s video signal.  They do not have to be the same brand.  The representative from Summer said that they have received complaints that people are picking up their neighbor’s video picture and their neighbor lives across the street.  The women at Summer said to tell people if they have a video monitor to periodically check the alternate channel, b/c if you can pick up someone else’s picture, they can also see your video.  She said that as long as video monitors share public frequencies this will be a big problem.  aliciaweintraub at earthlink.net
