High School Musical this Thursday!

Sassy Baby Powdered Formula Dispenser
Once you are done using this for formula, use it for different little snacks for your toddler! You can fill each slot with goldfish, raisins, cheerios,  pretzels, etc.! It's not to big is fit in your purse and the lid snaps tight to keep everything fresh. The container...just incase you don't have one...can be found at any baby supply store and is about $5.

Kids in seats
Did you know that just wearing a seat belt may not provide enough protection for your child! California law will requires all children under six years or 60 pounds to be in a passenger-restraint system. Booster seats are the perfect answer for these children too big for safety seats, but too small for lap/shoulder belts. A booster seat allows the shoulder belt to fit properly over your child's collarbone and the lap belt to fit snugly over the hips. Without a booster seat, your child is more likely to be injured in a car crash. The easiest way to know when children are large enough for an adult seat belt is to use the five-step test.

1. Does the child sit all the way back against the auto seat?
2. Do the child's knees bend comfortably at the edge of the auto seat?
3. Is the lap belt below the tummy, touching the thighs?
4. Is the shoulder belt centered on the shoulder and chest? and
5. Can the child stay seated like this for the whole trip? 

If you answered no to any of these questions, your child needs a booster seat to ride safely in the car. One of the biggest challenges to using a booster seat is child acceptance. The Auto Club offers several key tips for choosing and using the right booster seat: 
  a.. From an early age, explain to young children that they will use a booster seat when they are older. 
  b.. Emphasize that the booster seat is for "big" kids. 
  c.. Let children help in selecting the seat. 
  d.. Make sure the seat fits your child's weight and height. 
  e.. Try installing a seat in your vehicle before purchasing it. Make sure it fits the vehicle seat and restraint system. 
  f.. Always consult your vehicle owner's manual before purchasing and installing a child safety seat. Most will offer specific instructions and list special equipment needed for proper installation of a child safety seat. 
Confused about where to purchase a booster seat or what seat is best? Most department stores carry them near the infant and child seats. The proper booster seat for your child is one that positions the seat belt properly over the collarbone and low over the hips. For cars with low back seats, a high-back booster seat should be used.
